Lynda was born at home in dorset avenue, birtley, then took straight to hospital at dryburn county-durham, she had most of her childhood in birtley with her mother and father olive verronica peacock and edward brittcliffe peacock, she was a tipical young girl loved life in those days, she had an older sister kathleen, and two younger sister's christine(penny), and the youngest alison. They were a normal happy family her dad edward was an army man and always had the girls well behaved and smart dressed, as lynda grew into a young women she attracted the eyes of her young love syd, she wanted her dad to approve of there realationship in those days so she arranged for them to meet at chester-le-street, when lynda brought her dad to meet syd he was standing there smile on his face wearing a silver wig, (well that was the rage in those days!!!) as you can imagine edward was not amused but agreed the pair could date, but if he ever crossed the garden gate they would marry first.
Lynda and syd carried on the realationship and fell in love, they married on 1st april at chester-le-street regestery office,county durham people giggled that day that they were to marry on april fools day and thought the thing was a joke, but they were in love it followed by 2 lovely children first a little girl vicky dioanne welsh, and then a little boy david welsh, sadly before lynda had her children she lost her dad edward but carried on seeing syd to prove people wrong and in a way make her dad proud that they could make it.
Lynda then lived in grange villa, and enjoyed her life been a mum and a wife, it was all she ever wanted, she was so happy. lynda and syd grew apart and divorced but still remained great friends for there children and them selves, lynda also worked at dominic hunters at birtley-gateshead and shared a great passion for the bingo, joined every club going the mecca(gateshead)-gala(metrocentre) every where she went she had a membership there, even when she went abroad on holidays she became a member there too, lynda then became grandma-(nanna) to connor and claire vicky and david's children, they were her little angels and the apple of her eye, lynda then battled many years of cancer but was in remishion, and sadly on the 9th augest 2000 lynda callapst and passed away with a subarachnoid haemorrhage all her family was there at her bedside holding her hand at the time of passing, lynda is sadly missed by all her sister's mother olive and her grown up children vicky and david aswell as her two grandchildren and nieces & nephews,plus all her very close friends, we miss you loads forever and always, xxxxxx

hi linda, just saying a special birthday wish for my big sister, thinking and treasuring our younger days together, wishing things could be so different it's so hard without u sometimes i'm dying for our bond again a sister bond is great and almost like a mothers and most of the time u acted as my mother as she worked them days to provide for us, thanks for everythink our memorys our love for each other and for just been there thanks for the sister fighting we had we won't be sister if we didn't arguy too, hav'ent seen your david in a while, wish i could keep in touch but the family seem to be drifting apart as we grow up. our charlene see's nd hears from your vicky and conner still i'm glad they do as it's so good for them and would love for vicky and david to stay in touch wiv every one, happy birthday wishes for yesterday, your loveing sister alison & brian xxx

hi auntie linda, it's been so long but remember you so clearly, you brighten up everyone day and sparkled the stars in the night, hope your so proud of your family there doing really well, well got me hands full at the moment nathan doing his karate in the living room, nd macy-lea trying to break every think in the living room, but i so wouldn't swap them for the world. There coming on so well and i'm so proud to call them my children, well ii really must go now as kids running wild, but we will meet again some day and till that day u will always be missed and loved by many people xxx

hi lynda missing u loads hin, been away on my hols eventually got on that plane hun when away to egypt for christmas and new year, me and brian went together with penny nd charlie had a fab time great experiance, before we went mam's birthday we meet your vicky new boyfriend, he's lovely great singer u would be so proud of her, conner getting on great at his new school, he grown so big now god u a great granson there our nathan loves nd gets on with him loads. well ive a new grandaughter macy-lea off our charlene and our darlhia is having another one little girl, too due in may 6th, in gods safe keeping till we meet again love nd miss u loads your little sister alison and brian xxx
